The Role:

As a Casual Learning Development Assistant, you will provide targeted support to primary school students with additional learning needs. Working under the guidance of the Head of Learning Development - Junior School and Learning Development Teachers, you will support students in accessing the curriculum, developing learning skills and building confidence and independence.

This role is well suited to individuals who are passionate about supporting diverse learners and who value collaborative, student-centred practice within a supportive school environment.

The Average Day:
  • Supporting students one-on-one or in small groups to complete curriculum tasks
  • Implementing learning strategies and intervention plans developed by Learning Development Teachers
  • Encouraging student confidence, engagement and independence in learning
  • Working collaboratively with Classroom, Specialist and Learning Development Teachers
  • Keeping accurate records of student support and progress
  • Supporting administrative aspects of the program, such as attendance tracking or timetabling
The Person:
To be successful in this position, you will have:
  • A genuine interest in and commitment to working with students with additional learning needs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy and varied workload
  • Proficiency in the use of information and communication technologies
A valid Employee Working with Children Check is a requirement of employment for this position.
